The Brain
The brain of Scout is the ArduPilot Mega. This board is based off of the Arduino Mega processor and uses the Arduino IDE (integrated development environment) for programing the board. This board is capable of auto-stabilizing and navigating Scout. If a GPS unit is connected to this board, it can then auto-navigate the aircraft to user programmed locations.
Hello, I wonder if we have to/can connect this to a ArduPilot Mega IMU shield? Thanks.
Yes, The ArduPilot Mega IMU is designed to fit this board.
Hi,
Can the ArduPilotMega be replaced with the Ardupilot Mega 2.5?
If so, could I still follow the same guide?
Thakns.
Yes, you can use the APM 2.5 instead. The only difference is connecting the ESC’s and the receiver to the APM 2.5… The input and outputs of each board are in different locations.
What is the 3DR Radio Telemetry Kit – 915 Mhz do i need that.
The telemetry radio is used to communicate with the flight controller. You connect one radio to your computer and the other is connected to your UAV. It is essential a wireless USB. You use it to tune your UAV. If you have a GPS unit installed you can use a computer to send a programmed flight path or tell it where to go on a map.
Can you use it to send live video feed from a camera on the helicopter to the computer
You can’t send video over the telemetry radio. You will need a video transmitter and receiver to stream video.
Also what Camera would you recommend i use and how would i go about setting that up
